This provides you with details on how to do a Deep Clean Service
This document is to be used in conjunction with the PDI form. All bikes that are handled by a Bike Care specialist must always be checked and PDI completed - NO EXCEPTIONS. This is for your benefit so there will be a record of work in case we need to refer to it at a later date.
Safety is the NUMBER ONE priority and if a bike is unsafe to ride, tell the owner.
It is your responsibility to to sign off each bike you work on, this holds everyone accountable and responsible for their work.

Use: Neat degreaser 'painted' onto the cassette, chain rings, and chain, this technique reduces the amount of degreaser needed. If necessary you can also use the aerosol version, but this isn’t as targeted and we prefer to reduce our use on aerosols which are not as environmentally friendly. Deep clean and degrease of cassette, chain rings, derailleurs, chain rings, chain.
Use: Bike Cleaner spray Fenwicks. Focus on rims and hubs. Wipe with rags. Rinse off with water and splosh wash. Tyre sidewalls scrubbed clean.
Use: Bike Cleaner Spray. Use rags. Areas to remember, joints in frame, underside of frame, frame close to rim brakes where dirt often gets trapped. Rinse off with water and Splosh wash.
Use:
Rim Brakes: bike cleaner, rags, brushes to clean out dirt around callipers and pads. Rinse with Splosh Wash.
Disc Brakes: disk brake cleaner to flush out the pads and callipers, disc brake cleaner can also be used on rotors. Wipe clean with CLEAN Rags. Disc brakes and rotors are much more sensitive to dirt getting on the pads or rotors causing squealing. Feel free to cover these areas when cleaning the rest of the bike.
Clean handlebars, use bike cleaner if necessary or just water. Remember this is a contact point for the rider and they will want to hold something clean in their hands.
Use: Bike Cleaner Spray for lights and reflectors and brushes for saddle bags.
Ensure the bike is fully dry before your return to the customer.
