We use Recycled Rags

All the rags used at Ride Clean are sourced in the UK from clothing banks. The textiles are sorted and those that can't be sold in the UK or sent overseas are then sorted further and cut to size and sold. The process of sorting all these rags is done through the prison service, giving prisoners an opportunity to get credit for the work they do while they are in prison. It also prevents rags being sent overseas to be sorted and then shipped back to the UK.

We travel by Cargo Bike

Bikes are are the very heart of Ride Clean and this goes for how we travel to locations. We are proud to be a zero emissions business and part of a growing community of businesses that support the future of travel in the city. These bikes can carry up to 100kg and travel up to 80km on a charge. Efficient, nimble and fun to ride, what's not to love!

We use Environmentally Friendly Cleaning Products

We use UK- based Fenwicks for all our cleaning and care products, keeping the supply chain local. The bike cleaning product is shipped in concentrate form, reducing both packaging and weight that is shipped and we then dilute it as we need it.

Fenwicks make their products biodegradable and have been engineering bike cleaning products for over 20 years and always taking care to reduce their impact on the environment.

Techniques for Cleaning

We take care when cleaning to minimise the amount of product we use, for example by 'painting' degreaser onto the chainset, we ensure the degreaser gets where it needs to be without excess product being needed.

We Encourage Cycling as a Zero Emission form of Transport

Through cleaning and caring for bikes, we are helping people enjoy riding their bikes more often and it is great when you can offer advice for those that are looking to switch to cycle more often. This can be tips about how to care for their bike, or safe routes to take that avoid major junctions.

Our Uniform

The aprons you wear are made by Katy sourcing material from a local sewing shop who also do the embroidery. We like to keep it local, supporting other local businesses and there is no need to buy unnecessary qualities.
